Coinciding with World Environment Day, the team at Moreton Bay EEC were excited to have year 4-6 students from Woodhill State School and Petrie Terrace State School join us on our Overboard and Underwater Program. This hands-on program aligned perfectly with the 2023 World Environment Day theme: Solutions to Plastic Pollution.

Young Environmental Managers took a deep dive into a world of adventure and discovery as they tackled the urgent issue of plastic pollution. They investigated how humans use spaces, looked below the surface to discover micro-organisms affected by plastics and explored innovative ways to protect our precious oceans.

By participating in a clean-up and rubbish audit, students uncovered the power of collective action to create positive change. This program is one of many in our suite of hands-on, immersive learning journeys to inspire Champions for the Bay.

Together, we can make a difference! Let's make a splash in the fight against plastic pollution!
