Moreton Bay EEC are excited to announce our new extended programs on Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island). Tailored to meet school specific requirements, students will experience an extended day on culturally significant Minjerribah where they will be immersed in nature, culture and significant history.

Our Minjerribah Experiences are an inclusive package departing from Toondah Harbour at Cleveland. All that we require of participating schools, is that they arrange their transport to Cleveland - the Moreton Bay EEC team will look after the rest! This includes ferry transfers to and from Minjerribah, bus transfers on the island to special locations, cultural experiences and all activities conducted by our qualified teaching staff. Brochures, overviews, itineraries and curriculum activity risk assessments will be provided to assist with planning.

The experiences are targeted towards the following year levels:

Minjerribah Exploration (Prep – Year 2)
Students participate in nature-play-based activities to connect to special places, explore their personal abilities and become more confident when they interact with others. Activities may include cultural song and dance experiences; beach nature play and exploration at the Gorge walk at Point Lookout.

Minjerribah Discoveries (Year 3 – Year 4)
By year 3 and 4, students are encouraged to become more independent in their communication with others. Experiences foster the importance of maintaining respectful relationships while problem solving. Activities may include cultural presentations, traditional Indigenous games, creativity at ochre beach and exploration at the Gorge walk at Point Lookout.

Minjerribah's Hidden Histories (Year 5 – Year 6)
Leadership is the focus for the senior primary school day camp experience. Students are supported to develop a deep capacity to care, share and take positive action for their own well-being as they establish their own place in the world. By working in teams, students maintain a strong connection to their peers and are challenged to continue establishing positive relationships in the wider community. Activities may include an independent historical exploration, cultural presentation, student-led traditional Indigenous games, creativity at ochre beach and discovery walk of the Gorge at Point Lookout.

Note: Point Lookout is the perfect location to see whales during their annual migration between April and November.
