Our immersive citizen science Overboard and Underwater program, developed for both primary and secondary schools, provides students with memorable learning experiences directly connected to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal of "Life Below Water."
Through hands-on activities including plankton trawling on-board our vessel Inspiration, guided geographical mapping and citizen science adventures in Bayside Park, students dive deep into understanding the importance of ocean conservation and the delicate balance of life beneath the surface. Moreover, the Overboard and Underwater program aligns seamlessly with the curriculum, supporting key learning outcomes across geography and science. Students develop their inquiry skills as they conduct field investigations, enhance their environmental awareness, and strengthen their teamwork and communication abilities.
By engaging students in the wonders of marine life, this program instils a sense of environmental responsibility and highlights the vital role young people play in shaping the future of our planet. As principals and teachers, you have the opportunity to empower your students to become the stewards of our oceans and protectors of marine biodiversity.
We believe that by investing in our young learners and providing them with immersive experiences like the "Overboard and Underwater" program, we are paving the way for a brighter future. Let us equip our students with the knowledge and passion to become the next generation of Champions for the Bay.
