Moreton Bay EEC partnered with the Metropolitan Early Childhood Education Centre (ECEC) Team to deliver special activities and sessions to 95 young, curious children and their teachers and parents. Walking and learning on Quandamooka Country.
It was a spectacular day at the Centre. We were honoured to have Uncle Norm Enoch give the Welcome to Country to begin the day. The young ones were so excited to embark on a musical gudyiwagagirri-song and dance journey where they met Aunty Sharron's puppet friends and shared a laugh with Dinawan-Emu while connecting to past, present and future. Matt Burns shared Quandamooka culture through interactive displays and a wander through our beautiful Winnam pond. They engaged with the local animals through the sounds of the digeridoo and Matt's actions.
There was a sensory trail, indigenous games and an array of books provided by Brisbane City Council libraries. The library staff were on-hand to share stories and songs.
We are already looking forward to the next Outdoor Classroom Day at Moreton Bay EEC where we will share new experiences and make more memories.
