As a Department of Education facility, the Moreton Bay Environmental Education Centre exceeds all safety standards required by the department. For all program activities Moreton Bay Environmental Education Centre takes responsibility for Curriculum Activity Risk Assessments (CARA).

CARA documentation for all our programs on board the vessel Inspiration can be found in our documents section.

Quality programs and safety procedures are paramount to the operations of the Moreton Bay Environmental Education Centre. This is achieved through:

  • Highly trained and qualified instructional staff:
    • Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) – annually updated
    • Senior First Aid Certificate – renewed every three years
    • Boat safety training
    • Motor boat license
    • Coxswains certificate
  • All staff are involved with annual induction that includes:
    • Child protection / Code of conduct
    • Managing risks in school curriculum activities
    • Fire training
    • Site specific and relevant work area training
