The Moreton Bay EEC team were ready to go, kicking off the new year with Moreton Bay Studies (Biology) with students from John Paul College.
The year 12 students joined us for two outstanding days on Quandamooka and at our centre. The young biologists collected and analysed fish abundance data using the 'Baited Remote Underwater Video' (BRUV) technique as well as classifying the benthic ecosystem with data they collected with our Fifish underwater remotely operated vehicle.
The Moreton Bay Studies program encourages students to become Champions for the Bay, provides the stimulus and data to complete their Senior Biology assessment and encourages the students to think and operate scientifically.
We are looking forward to sharing this program with many senior students in the weeks to come.
