Bay EEC was honoured to have students from the University of the Sunshine Coast
(USC) join us out on the Bay to experience “hands-on” teaching of marine
science. USC has introduced a second-year subject, Marine Science Education,
into their Outdoor Environment Studies program - we value courses such as these
that enable students to develop the knowledge and skills to facilitate
experiences that can change people’s relationships with marine environments. It
was our pleasure to work with them in conducting fieldwork, analysing and
evaluating information and sharing best practice pedagogy. We look forward to
seeing the teachers of the future in Queensland schools or Environmental
Education Centres in the upcoming years.
