This National Water Week (19–25 October 2026), the school theme Water Connects Everything invites students to explore these connections and discover how their everyday actions can make a difference, from the plants and animals living in our creeks to the communities that depend on healthy waterways.
Our Go with the Flow program brings this theme to life through hands-on fieldwork, scientific investigations and outdoor learning.
Taking on the role of aquatic scientists, students investigate Wynnum Creek, assess riparian habitat health and explore food chains to understand how energy flows through an ecosystem. They'll get up close with freshwater creatures, whose presence and diversity can provide clues about catchment health.
Students also investigate how water moves through the landscape, explore sustainable water practices and discover how waste and recycling affect our waterways. With a focus on caring for Country and learning from First Nations perspectives, students consider how we can all contribute to healthier environments.
Building on the environmental stewardship of our Habitat Heroes program, which empowers students to protect local habitats and the varied species that depend on them. Go with the Flow empowers students to move beyond discovery and take action, inspiring them to become everyday heroes for our waterways.
Ready to get your students flowing? Book Go with the Flow and help your class discover the connections that sustain life and become Champions for Moreton Bay.
