Along with members of the Queensland Association of State School Principals, Moreton Bay EEC were privileged to join Elisha Kissick (Yura Tours) for a day of immersion in Quandamooka Culture on the white sands and spectacular coastal scenery on Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island).
Elisha shared cultural knowledge and stories from her ancestors about where they lived and walked, how they foraged for traditional foods and shared creation stories. We all loved learning about how sacred the native flora and fauna are and how, if we are aware and note the signs, they provide important information. A special visit to Delvine Cockatoo-Collins' gallery was inspirational.
