Outdoor Classroom Days create meaningful, play-filled learning experiences for kindy children the moment they arrive on site. Set against the backdrop of our beautiful Centre, these special days invite children to explore, discover and learn alongside nature. From wandering through our outdoor learning spaces to engaging in hands-on activities, children are encouraged to follow their curiosity and build confidence as they connect with the world around them.
A highlight of Outdoor Classroom Days is the opportunity for children to engage with respected Cultural Knowledge holders who generously share their stories and wisdom. We have been honoured to welcome:
- Aunty Sharron mirri Bell
- Quandamooka Cultural Officer Matt Burns
- Aunty Merle and Kaitlin from Yura Consultancy
Through song, dance, language, and storytelling, these special guests guide children in understanding the significance of Quandamooka Country and the importance of caring for the land, sea and sky.
These rich cultural and environmental experiences help our youngest learners build early connections to place, develop respect for First Nations perspectives, and grow their sense of belonging in the natural world. Outdoor Classroom Days not only support early learning curriculum outcomes - but they also plant the seeds of stewardship, empathy and lifelong curiosity.
