Students from the University of Queensland explored the histories of St. Helena Island National Park through the lens of archaeology. Moreton Bay EEC, along with UQ Professor Chris Clarkson, assisted with the facilitation of this field work experience which began with a presentation by Quandamooka Cultural Officer, Matt Burns. The day also included examination and mapping of both tangible and intangible artefacts in order to value and appreciate the islands rich history. Daley Donnelly, Ranger with Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service, was also on hand to give an expert guided tour around the island, imparting his wonderful historical knowledge to the students.
The students had a fantastic day - a big thank you to everyone involved, we highly value our partnerships with these amazing people and organisations.
