FrogID Week

Looking for a great way to be a citizen scientist? How about counting frogs!

FrogID week was held between 11 - 20 November. It is Australia's biggest frog count where citizens can collect data to help protect and conserve native frog species. Using the FrogID app, simply record frog calls from your backyard. Scientists are then able to verify and add the species in your area to a National database.

Moreton Bay EEC's native pond habitat is host to the delightful Wallum Sedge Frog. The pond was established in 2015 to create the optimum environment and is providing an important sanctuary for threatened species like the Wallum Sedge Frog and the Honey Blue Eye Fish. Perhaps your school is the ideal place for creating a Frog pond or Frog Habitats too!
