A brilliant start to 2026 with Aunty Merle and Kaitlin from Yura Consultancy delivering a workshop on Australia's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander significant dates and the history behind each one. The passion of delivery made team discussions even more powerful.

The workshop approached history not as dates on a timeline, but as lived experience. The team explored the roots of ongoing social and historical divides which again highlights that listening and understanding is essential. With engagement and belonging so high on the Departments Strategic Plan, the team feel well versed to ensure we are ensuring every student feels welcome to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Aunty Merle and Kaitlin created a safe space to ask questions, explore important but often overlooked truths and walk away with deeper understanding - not just of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, but of the Australia we all live in today. We are so grateful. Needless to say, we are excited to be well and truly back for 2026!
