Moreton Bay EEC proudly collaborates with universities including The University of Queensland (UQ) and the University of the Sunshine Coast (USC).
Pre-service educators from USC join Moreton Bay EEC for authentic, place-based learning experiences that connect theory with practice in real-world outdoor and environmental education settings. The students participate in field studies alongside Moreton Bay EEC staff, observing and engaging in effective teaching strategies that promote curiosity, inquiry, and sustainability. They gain valuable insights into how experiential learning can inspire students and enhance curriculum delivery across science, geography, and humanities.
This collaboration nurtures the next generation of educators, equipping them with the confidence and skills to deliver engaging, hands-on learning experiences. By working closely with Moreton Bay EEC, pre-service teachers develop a deep understanding of the power of environmental education to shape informed, responsible, and connected citizens.
Moreton Bay EEC is also proud to partner with UQ and the UQ Moreton Bay Research Station to deliver enriching, place-based learning experiences for the Community and students. This partnership connects visitors, students and teachers with leading marine science research, providing access to expert knowledge and real-world experiences that deepen understanding of the Moreton Bay ecosystem.
Through shared programs and fieldwork opportunities, Moreton Bay EEC and UQ work together to inspire curiosity and stewardship for the marine environment. By linking education with scientific research, this collaboration helps students appreciate the importance of evidence-based conservation and fosters a lifelong connection to the unique natural and cultural heritage of Moreton Bay.
