The Moreton Bay Environmental Education Centre provides a range of day visit programs to students ranging from Prep to Year 12.

Detailed information can be found on the following pages:

Programs aim to engage and challenge students through incorporating the following:

  • Authentic, hands-on experiences for students that promote a connection to place and a sense of social justice and personal responsibility.
  • Learning that is relevant, enjoyable and responsive to individual needs and makes explicit links to the Australian Curriculum.
  • The importance of sustainable development and sound environmental ethics to support the integrity of the natural environment and ensure sustainable futures.
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge, traditional land management strategies and cultural history to give perspective on current practices within Moreton Bay.

Whole-school curriculum planning plays a key role in enabling staff to deliver the Australian Curriculum for all students and reflects the decisions, resources and priorities of the centre. Planning is dynamic and subject to continuous monitoring and review.

Our effective teaching practices are focussed on the achievement of every student and guided by an explicit approach to pedagogy. The Leanring Journey Programs can be differentiated to meet the learning needs of individual students.
