Did you know that 40,000 shorebirds of 20 different species migrate to Moreton Bay to feed during our summer months? Students and teachers who take part in our Birds and Beaches, Dogs and Leashes program during term one and four are fortunate to be able to observe and learn about these fascinating birds from the Port of Brisbane purpose-built high tide roost. The birds are able to rest and feed here on our shores before making the long journey back to their breeding grounds in the northern hemisphere.
