On Saturday we ventured across the bay on Inspiration to Stradbroke Island to support the UQ Moreton Bay Research Station. Three cruises were run for the community, each focusing on a different aspect of Moreton Bay's incredible ecosystem.

Cruise one saw Julian Uribe-Palomino from CSIRO onboard to capture and observe incredible and intriguing creatures that form the basis of all marine food chains within Quandamooka. The second cruise of the day included prestigous scientists Professor Ron Johnston and Dr Richard Barnes, including the community participants in an investigation of the fascinating seagrass habitat. The awesome scientists from underseaROV were onhand with their robots to observe seagrass direct to screen from underneath the surface. The third and last cruise of the day was joined by Associate Professor Ian Tibbetts to analyse a baited remote underwater video (BRUV) and discover what fish are lurking beneath the waves off Minjerribah.

We can't wait for 2019!
