It’s WWI and young Australian men are voluntarily signing up to defend the British Empire. Australia is divided over conscription. Over the past few weeks students from Burpengary State Secondary College and John Fischer College have been engaged in museum theatre at Fort Lytton National Park. Students were immersed in drama through the eyes of an Australian soldier and nurse at Gallipoli and on the Western Front. Through the use of theatre-in-education students connected deeply to past events and moments in time, with deep reflections enhancing critical thinking. We love our partnership programs with Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service, starring the amazing actors and theatre-in-education specialists Daley Donnelly and Zoe de Plevitz.
