International Development with the University of the Sunshine Coast

Students from Papua New Guinea participating in an Advance Australia Awards Certificate IV in Entrepreneurship and New Venture Capital Creation at the University of the Sunshine Coast joined us on Quandamooka (Moreton Bay) to experience culture and history of this area.
Participants spent time in Brisbane engaging with business professionals to further their experience and ignite aspirations to develop their businesses through connection and involvement. We were honoured to facilitate a program taking students across the bay on-board Inspiration to Minjerrabah (North Stradbroke Island) where they engaged with Quandamooka Cultural Officer, Matt Burns, exploring the traditions and customs of the area. Not surprisingly, there were some similarities between their culture and Quandamooka culture.
Disembarking on St Helena Island provided the perfect backdrop to experience early Brisbane history. Wildlife was abundant and the weather sensational. Concepts of sustainability explored enabled participants to consider potential ideas for their own enterprise. A truly rewarding day for the Moreton Bay EEC team as well as the participants from Papua New Guinea.
